MEET WBE OWNER/DESIGNER MELANIE
I planned my first party June 18, 1997 with a $20 budget. I was determined to make it look coordinated. With a midnight run to Walmart I pulled it off. We had cake, balloons and even a matching outfit for my daughters first birthday. Since that day I've committed to making every birthday big and special. After 4 kids and 20 years of birthdays other event decorating opportunities allowed me to see just how creative I could be.
Although I come from a creative family, my dad a musician and artist, my mom an interior designer, model, and illustrator, my brother a wood worker, my baby brother a mural artist, and my baby sister a singer, I didn't see any of those talents in me. I saw their ability and figured the creative gene had skipped me so I took on the business aspect of things, creating contracts, making business decisions, and managing the details of their projects.

Twenty years and countless events later I finally saw my creativity and talent emerge which led me to start White Box Events by Melanie, LLC. This is my creative space where I can develop design concepts and transformations for my clients. At White Box Events by Melanie my ideas for transforming spaces are endless.

EVENT PLANNER OR EVENT DESIGNER
WBE is all about event design. An Event Planner by definition will oversee every detail your entire event, from choosing your event date to making sure your guest RSVP'd and everything in between. An Event Designer will develop the visual aspects of your event thereby creating an experience. I hone both event planning and event design capabilities and can sometimes be convinced to take on the event planning role but my love is design and decor.

EXPERIENCE
I have experience in planning and designing for birthday parties, baby showers and weddings. I have transformed yards, basements and estates into experiences. I have also designed for corporate holiday events, and large scale community events. I can create an atmosphere for an amazing and memorable event. I know I've done my job when I hear my client say, "Wow!"

*NEW SERVICE* COMMUNITY EVENT CONSULTING & DESIGN
WBE is proud to have added a new service of Community Event Consulting and Design. My first community event was planning a picnic for 600 families. It was a success. I've planned events for elementary schools, high schools and churches. This role allows me to help communities develop impactful events for more than 500 people. Some examples of events are silent auctions, community reads, parades and runs.
